Terry Lewis Co-Authors Ehrhardt’s Florida Evidence Treatise

Messer Caparello, P.A.’s Terry P. Lewis, a retired Circuit Court Judge, served as a contributing co-author of the 2024 Edition of Ehrhardt’s Florida Evidence, a publication of West’s Florida Practice Series. Cited over 450 times in Florida appellate decisions, Ehrhardt’s Florida Evidence is widely considered the preeminent treatise on the Florida Rules of Evidence. Judge Lewis contributed along with the principal author, Professor Charles W. Ehrhardt of the Florida State University College of Law. Professor Ehrhardt and Judge Lewis have co-presented several times to new judges at the Florida Judicial College. Judge Lewis also teaches Evidence at the FSU College of Law.

Judge Lewis retired from the bench in 2019 after serving as a trial judge in Florida’s Second Judicial Circuit for almost 30 years. Judge Lewis then joined the Firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution practice, where he provides mediation and arbitration services throughout the state of Florida. Although currently focused on mediation and arbitration, Judge Lewis regularly consults with the Firm’s trial lawyers about complex evidentiary and trial practice issues.
